Shane Warne to Wed Liz Hurley After Proposal on Cruise

Even as cricket occupies centre stage, the celebrity couple status that has been accorded to Shane Warne and British actress, Liz Hurley, continues to keep its word in terms of creating cricket celebrity headlines as it would appear that the romance may now culminate in marriage.

Shane Warne has been in the headlines despite the fact that he had retired from international cricket for a while and has only been playing the IPL 4 for the Rajasthan Royals, which he has also relinquished as the end of the IPL 4 season.

However, it is neither his role as player or commentator that keeps him now on the top of the sports headlines. Rather it is his romance with Hurley that has captured the interest, particularly of those in England and Australia, and even followed almost like a soap opera. In keeping with it, there have also been media trailing the escapades of the two love birds who have not hid their romance but rather have been openly flaunting it in the public eye, engaging for the world to follow on social networking site, Twitter.

While psychologists have brought into question the need to exhibitionism via the social networking indulgence, others within the media have been constantly keeping an eye on the budding romance that became a side distraction during the Ashes down under with the Australian cricket team failing miserably and England getting right on top of things. What was initially considered another of Warne's affairs, the romance appeared to gather ground as it did the tabloid like following in the media.

Warne had previously denied fuelling rumours of the Warne-Hurley marriage being on the cards even as Hurley only recently had her divorce from Indian businessman, Arun Nayyar confirmed. Warne was reportedly rekindling his relationship with his ex-wife, Simone Callaghan, before his romance with Hurley took her by surprise. Over the IPL 4 season, Warne and Hurley seemed keen to display their affection for one and all India with Hurley's son Damian also present. Warne's three children also appeared to bond with Hurley furthering signalling the seriousness of the relationship.

Over the years, Shane Warne's cricket career has been affected by news of his reported affairs and sex scandals that even took its toll on the opportunity to captain the Australian team. However, this would appear the second serious relationship for Warne since his ex-wife with reports that Warne actually got down on one knee and proposed to Hurley in a romantic manner on a private cruise to fuel the Warne_Hurley wedding speculation once more.
