Following the aftermath of the IPL 3 auctions where the reactions over the Pakistan cricketers, the IPL Commissioner and co owner of the Rajasthan Royals were in the mood for an aggressive denial of a conspiracy.

Shilpa Shetty was adamant that the decision not to pick Pakistan cricketers for the IPL 3 season was not a decision made in consensus with other IPL franchisees. She also spoke about the loss they suffered in IPL 2. She further added that the issue over why the Pakistan cricketers was being taken out of context. But then, she retaliated, "We don't owe any explanation anyway."
Lalit Modi was equally uninterested in dragging the issue further, saying it was the prerogative of the IPL franchisees and he was not playing "super selector" on the issue. He felt similarly as Shilpa Shetty, asking why no explanation or apology was sought for the players who were not picked from Canada or Zimbabwe.
