Shiv Sena chief, Bal Thackeray, launched another tirade against cricketers, not against Sachin Tendulkar but against all Indian cricketers, for mingling and maintaining friendly relations with the Australian cricketers despite the attacks.

In that he commended Amitabh Bachchan for turning down the honour from the Queensland University and stated the Indian cricketers would do well to emulate him.

In the mouthpiece, Saamna, Thackeray also stated that no Australian cricketer would be allowed to play in Mumbai or even Maharashtra until the attacks stopped, citing the case with the Pakistan cricketers over the ongoing conflict in Kashmir.
