The Pakistan fast bowler found himself in hot water before the matter was sorted out by the Pakistan captain.

Pakistan's tour of England was about to get off to another controversial start. That is because Shoaib Akhtar apparently refused to sign Pakistan's new code of conduct on the contention that since he was at the receiving end of a central contract from the Pakistan Cricket Board, he was not obligated to sign on the dotted line.
The matter reached a crescendo with the Pakistan manager, Yawar Saeed, apparently threatening the fast bowler that he would be sent home if he did not sign. But Shahid Afridi is said to have brokered peace between the two, allowing peace to return ahead of the Twenty20 matches against Australia on Pakistan's tour of England.
