In the war of words, no opportunities are spared. Well, nothing can be more embarrassing than having to eat one’s own words.

Harbhajan Singh hogged the mic after the first day’s play yesterday at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, telling anyone who would listen just how badly England had fared. He was especially critical of England’s batting and of their inability to devise a strategy to score runs in sub continent conditions. He even singled out Kevin Pietersen and Owais Shah.
After today, those criticisms would have become a little milder. India did not exactly send across a coaching manual to England and on the contrary, leaving England feeling as if they could teach India a trick or two. It is hard to even call the game even with India decidedly on the back burner as far as punter’s go.
Whether Harbhajan overshot, the answer to that would be yes after today’s game. Whether he should have even commented on it in the first place when India have had the better of England anyway, not necessarily verbals, remains up to debate.
