Sir Richard Hadlee, who was inducted into the ICC's Hall of Fame earlier this year, has hit out at the ICC for not doing enough to protect the game of cricket and allowing the unchecked reign of Twenty20 that is destroying the game itself.

The former New Zealand all rounder was speaking about the excesses of Twenty20 at a publicity event to promote his book, "Changing Pace".
In his opinion, Twenty20 was being used indiscriminately and thereby, compromising other versions such as Test cricket and the ODIs. He felt that eventually the indiscriminate expansion of the game, being allowed to run free because of the money coming in from India, was doing greater damage to the game itself as overkill would dampen interests in the other version.
He feels that the ICC should stand up to take greater control of the situation and there is a reason for him to be worried because the IPL governing council just announced that the IPL 4 in 2011 would involved ninety-four games instead of the present fifty-nine, indicating a rather lengthy tournament and one that is likely to eat into other cricketing interests.
