Graeme Smith is unhappy at having to miss out on the one day series but knows he is going to be fighting to get fight for the next Test fight that begins in South Africa in late February when Australia come touring.

In his absence, Johan Botha has been handed the reins but judging by the 4-0 thrashing handed out by the then Kevin Pietersen-led England, Smith has stated that while instant results may not come for South Africa, there are definitely attempts on to build a team that can be formidable in a couple of years time like the Test preparations have been.
