Bangladesh as a cricketing nation has improved a lot in last one year or so but the irony is they are still not good enough to consistently compete against a top quality test nation like Sri Lanka.

For the first time in their cricketing history Bangladesh is playing a three match test series against the top test playing nation but they were abysmal in the first test against Sri Lanka when they were defeated by massive margin in just three days. In the first inning of that test match, Bangladesh was all out for paltry total of 89. Their bowler too struggled with fast bowler Chaminda Vaas scoring his first century.

When Sri Lanka take field later today, they will go all out to win this second test match and clinch the series. Though, bad weather can ruin the aspiration of Sri Lanka as rain is forecast for initial three days of the test match. Sri Lanka off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, who took nine wickets in the first Test, will look for more Bangladesh wickets in his home ground.
