South African fast bowler, Dale Steyn, appears unable to get past the fact that people would even doubt his credentials and commitment to the sport by assuming he was doing banned substances when the sample came out positive.

South Africa Cricketers Association (SACA) has condemning the testing procedure used during the IPL by stating that it was outdated and that the morphine levels were bound to rise in the use of drugs such as Myprodol containing codeine and that there was an unnecessary red flag being raised over the issue and that the South Africa's Institute for Drug Free Sport in Bloemfontein would have handled the matter a lot better than the IPL organizers did, a direct jab at Lalit Modi and his team of staff that undertook the drug testing. Surprisingly while the CSA stated that it acted in accordance with the findings put forth by the IPL, Modi had denied Steyn had turned positive.
Steyn himself was hurt that the matter was brought to line in such an incriminating matter when he had followed procedure towards medication in sport. He stated he was also disappointed that the public at large actually believed the evidence over him despite his long standing contribution to the sport.
