Dale Steyn and Jacques Kallis are on track to be back to full fitness in time for the Proteas’ tour to the United Arab Emirates to play Pakistan in the second half of October and November.

The Proteas’ Standard Bank limited overs squads will play two Pro20 International matches and five ODIs while the Castle Test squad will have two five-day games.
Both Steyn (concussion and back injury) and Kallis (neck injury) have been out of action since the Champions League T20 last month. Neither will play any part in the three-match MTN ODI series against Zimbabwe which starts at the OUTsurance Oval, Bloemfontein on Friday (2.30pm).
The remaining matches will be at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom, on Sunday and at Sahara Park Willowmoore, Benoni, on the following Friday.
Morne Morkel, who injured his ankle while fielding in the Standard Bank Pro20 International against Zimbabwe last Friday, had his first bowling session since then on Wednesday, operating at 50 percent off a 12-pace run-up.
He is expected to be available for selection at some stage of the MTN ODI series.
Albie Morkel, who was also injured during the Champions League T20, has made a full recovery and bowled full-out in the middle on Wednesday.
