Triggered by concerns over Andrew Flintoff's injury that has led to his retirement and Kevin Pietersen's Achilles heel that has put him out of the Ashes, Andrew Strauss is stating he will be working closely with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to ensure that England does not suffer premature retirement and injuries when they should be raring to go for England's national duty.

That translates into stricter rules over lucrative IPL participation which has become a contentious issue, with the Indian coach, and former South African batsman, Gary Kirsten, encouraging India's young cricketers to check their temptation and think about their commitment to team India.
