rahul-dravid_54India will certainly rue its fate - If bowling collapses and batting mockery weren’t enough for the Indians then here something to add to it’s adversity - the mainstay of the Indian discipline - the wall, skipper Rahul Dravid has been ruled out of the remaining two ODI’s at Port Elizabeth and Centurion and a twenty20 game in Johannesburg due to an injured finger.

On field discipline has always been a problem for Team India and dropped catches had proven vital for the Indian defeat in Cape Town - Dravid fractured middle finger of his right hand when he dropped Shaun Pollock of Harbhajan Singh while fielding at first slip. The injured captain in spite of the injury top scored for India with 63 runs - Vice-captain Virender Sehwag (who missed the first two ODI’s owing to a finger injury and returned to the pavilion without scoring in the third) will be the standing captain in Dravid’s absence.

The selection committee seems to have got that slight hint of wisdom: it has called upon VVS Laxman to replace the captain; the experienced middle order batsman will try and reinforce Team India (who already struggle with the absence of Yuvraj Singh) against the Proteas.

Sourav Ganguly has always been in the good books of the former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya - what beauty is the Article 19 of the Indian Constitution; anyone can make remarks on anything - the MP’s on cricket, the cricket coach leashing back at the MP’s and the corruption accused on the Team selection - though without the real concern ‘CRICKET’... Dalmiya has demanded that Sourav Ganguly should be recalled to the Indian Team immediately - even I will take the liberty of the Article 19 and demand the return of the cricketer who averages (highest in South Africa) higher than all the players on the tour.
