Sachin Tendulkar has already been immortalized, for practical purposes at Madame Tussauds. However the hunger in the man for the game is insatiable. It is evident from the fact that he held himself back from representing India in cricket's third avatar, the Twenty20 game.

Tendulkar leads the Mumbai Indians team in the IPL. But he could well have played Twenty20 for India. Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly pulled their names out of the Indian squad for the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 championships in South Africa.
But Tendulkar stated that his state of fitness led him to believe he could be a doubtful starter for the matches and so, withdrew his name. Now showing the return of his old ways, Tendulkar has expressed that he would have dearly loved to have been a part of the Indian team.
What's stopping him then? There is an unselfish side to Tendulkar and he revealed it through his decision not to play Twenty20 for India. Sachin stated that though he was fit, he did not want to disrupt the combination of the team and that too after the team went onto to win in South Africa beating Pakistan in the finals.
While his decision appears validated by the fact that India is building a team for the future, one can only wonder if Twenty20 fans of the Indian team are missing something out!
