The task before India was not all that easy, albeit that the opposition had played out of its skin. But with Mahendra Singh Dhoni leading the way, victory did not seem in doubt.

The Indian captain played a typical captain's knock to bring India from doubting contention into firm command. Given a precarious situation of fifty-one runs for the loss of three wickets with both openers and Yuvraj Singh back in the pavilion, Dhoni had only young hands to rely on and on the day, they did not let him down.
From forging a rather decisive 152 run partnership for the fourth wicket with Virat Kohli to an unbeaten ninety-one alliance with Suresh Raina to get the task accomplished, Dhoni remained the mainstay.
For a captain bogged down by several problems in the bowling department, Dhoni failed to show fatigue of the torrid first fifty innings, batting right through to ensure India stayed firm in the Idea Cup tri series at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur in the third ODI.
As the hosts struggled against the experience of Dhoni and the notoriety of the young wards, India went about chipping away at the enormous target of 297. Dhoni led the way with a sparkling unbeaten 101 while Kohli was unfortunate in that he suffered towards the end of his innings of ninety-one, requiring a runner at one stage. But Suresh Raina chipped in with a crucial cameo as Dhoni marched on without looking back on the wobble of the early overs, sealing this win by six wickets with two and a half overs to spare.
