Trott Does Not Trot, Earns Ire of the South Africans

Jonathan Trott is already annoying the South Africans and not just with the bat.

It is indiscernible whether Trott is doing what he is doing as a manner of deliberate time waste or whether he has a knack for picking up superstitions while at the crease.

His antics certainly had the South African captain, Graeme Smith, irked even though the latter had stated that while he would extend a lunch invitation to Trott, though none would be forthcoming for Kevin Pietersen.

Trott was seeing taking his guard in rather lengthy fashion, dragging his boot wide and across, then rearranging the straps of his pads, and once more settling in to taking his guard. Not only were the South Africans exasperated but the commentators kept repeatedly asking Trott to get on before he was formally charged by the umpires for time wasting, although it was unclear what kind of punishment would be meted out in such a scenario.

Trott though had a similar time in the ODIs. While his runs are getting under the skin of the opposition, so are his antics.

As the first Test in Centurion came to a thrilling draw, South Africa may just be asking themselves, could we have squeezed in a couple of overs during Trott's time wasting?
