Such is the pace of a Twenty20 match that even heroics tend to get lost somewhere in between!

It was reported that in the first Twenty20 International match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, there were two potential hat trick situations in the final over of both innings.

However, apparently, Jacob Oram did take a hat trick, although not in the final over. Oram picked up the wicket of Angelo Matthews in the over prior and then returned for the final over of the match to pick two in two balls, therefore, making up a hat trick off consecutive balls of two overs.
The irony of the situation was apparently pointed out to Oram by his dad's congratulatory message!
Incidentally this is only the second hat trick after Brett Lee got his three against Bangladesh in the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 in South Africa.
Blame it on the game!
