Twitter War Sees Modi Take on Dixit over Shane Warne; Dixit Responds, Calls Modi Fugitive

What could be more interesting/ugly than an IPL 4 match? The battles that are mushrooming after Shane Warne appears to have kicked up dirt following his spat with the Rajasthan Cricket Association. A proxy war is also being fought between Sanjay Dixit and Lalit Modi.

Lalit Modi still considers himself a czar although technically his post before the BCCI brought financial irregularities against him was that of the IPL chairman and commissioner. Perhaps in a role only he thinks he continues to hold, Modi has been updating his followers on Twitter - his favourite haunt - on the status of the IPL in the IPL 4 seasona s well.

Modi, despite the many battles piled against him, seems he cannot resist a go even if he happens to be hiding in London following the IPL 3 conclusion. Reminiscing perhaps on his tenuous relationship at the Rajasthan Cricket Association, Modi took a swipe at Dixit in the RCA Secretary's feud with Shane Warne, the Rajasthan Royals captain.

Modi obviously put himself in the same bracket as Warne when he alluded to Dixit:

@sanjay_dixit gets enough publicity by messing with legends.

Making the issue even more personal and direct, Modi tweeted thus:

A quick way up the ladder in BCCI, is to publicly defame @LalitKModi and everyone he knows, don't believe me ask @sanjay_dixit.

As has often been the case, Lalit Modi could not resist reminding that the IPL was his vehicle as he often reiterated that the BCCI was benefitting financially as a result of his brain child, the Indian Premier League:

@Sanjay_Dixit FYI, @LalitKModi changed Rajasthan cricket, the way SMS looks, he created the IPL, unlocked value of the BCCI

While Modi used Shane Warne's comments against the Chennai Super Kings to further his own agenda, Modi though has been elusive on the matter of criminal proceedings against him, refusing to fly down to India to cooperate with the authorities and has stayed reclusive and evasive unless of course on Twitter.

Unable perhaps to put up with Modi's rant anymore Dixit issued a public tweet that has set the cricket world abuzz. Calling Modi a fugitive no less, Dixit has promised that Modi will have to pay when he eventually returns to the country.

This was Dixit's tweet to Modi:

@LalitKModi Bloody fugitive. Come back to India and I will give you your just desserts

Rest assured, this may not be the last that the cricket world hears of Modi.
