Sri Lanka struck back through Lasith Malinga and man of the match, Nuwan Kulasekara, who returned with figures of three for four from three overs as Sri Lanka defeated New Zealand by seven wickets as only Brendon McCullum managed a top score of thirty-six runs in another sluggish affair at the Central Broward Stadium in Florida.

The Sri Lankan win follows their defeat in the first Twenty20 international (technically second after the first was ruled out due to poor floodlight system) in Lauderhill. New Zealand eked their way to 120 after Ross Taylor top scored with twenty-seven, the identical top score by Angelo Matthews with Scott Styris playing a crucial role with the ball with three wins as Sri Lanka lost by twenty-eight runs.

While cricket did migrate to the USA, however, the run scoring would have had to have been more attractive to gather more interest.
