The IPL 4 new teams auction may be over, although the controversies surrounding the Kochi team are keeping other teams' fingers crossed. Videocon are certainly not giving up easily.

After losing the bid to add Pune to the list of IPL teams in 2011, Videocon were reportedly talking to Kings XI Punjab of possibly holding a stake in the team as co franchisee. The speculation gathered speed with rumours that Ness Wadia wanted nothing to with KXIP after his personal break up with Preity Zinta, the Bollywood actress who is also a co franchisee.
Videocon's chairman, Venugopal Dhoot, did not hide the intentions of the company to reporters, stating, "We are in manufacturing of TV sets and related businesses so it makes sound business sense to us."
He is rather confident Videocon will be associated intimately with the IPL 4, without political compulsions of course.
