The swashbuckling opener has been missing in action in the latter part of the IPL 4 season as the Delhi Daredevils captain. While his team has sunk, he has decided to keep India's hopes alive by taking a time out and getting much needed treatment for his shoulder.

Sehwag's shoulder problems have been a recurrence since 2009, and it has seen him miss cricket intermittently for India ever since. Although he played in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, there was little doubt that Sehwag has been struggling with his shoulder, the surgery for which he had been delaying.

Now not taking further chances given India's cricket calendar ahead, Sehwag decided to drop out half way through the IPL 4 season and seek treatment. That has rendered his absence not only for the IPL 4 season as the Delhi Daredevils' only real hope but also, for India's tour of the West Indies.

Hopefully now that Sehwag has finally received the treatment that has been protracted over time, following his rehabilitation, he should be able to put his troubles behind him.

However, Sehwag has reiterated that he hopes to have completed his rehabilitation in time for India's tour of England which follows the West Indies tour. Sehwag will be an integral as he has been in the opening role, performing phenomenally in the Test format to everyone's surprise, and has emerged as crucial in getting India those brilliant starts that make for memorable endings. Sehwag certainly hopes to feature in India's plans by the time Indian cricket will have finished their assignment in the Caribbean.
