For a second ICC World Twenty20 event in a row, Virender Sehwag will not be a part of India's playing line up.

One may recall that the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-Virender Sehwag rumoured rift caused quite the stir in England in 2009. Now even as murmurs are suggesting conspiracy theories behind Sehwag's absence, the fact of the matter is that Sehwag has once again injured his shoulder (talk about coincidence!) and therefore, will be unable to represent India in the premier event in the Twenty20 format.

It has opened the way though for Murali Vijay, who has been in sensational form in the IPL 3 for the Chennai Super Kings. One felt that the selectors had done India a grave injustice by overlooking Vijay who looks to be in the peak of his form, and has been a dominating factor for the Chennai Super Kings. Providentially he now gets to prove his worthiness in the Indian team at the unintended benevolence of another swashbuckling opener.
