Virender Sehwag was already on the doubtful list of Indian cricketers for the tour of the West Indies. Now it has been confirmed that the Delhi Daredevils captain will not play in the IPL 4 anymore and will not make it to the West Indies with an impending shoulder surgery.

The Delhi Daredevils will have to start looking for a new captain because Sehwag has apparently played his final match for the Delhi IPL franchisee. Sehwag's shoulder injury was on the suspect list for sometime and although he belied it with a couple of great IPL knocks, his shoulder will apparently go under the knife, which means his rehabilitation will rule him not only out of the remaining matches for the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL 4 season but also, from the forthcoming India's tour of West Indies.

There was already speculation that Sehwag may not board a flight to the Caribbean when the Indian selectors sit down to select the Indian squad for the West Indies tour. And now it has been proven beyond doubt that Sehwag's shoulder has come yet again in the way of watching the man unleash the terror as the explosive opener.

The Delhi Daredevils have struggled significantly in the IPL season. And it would seem that the virtual ending of their hopes has allowed Sehwag the opportunity to deal with his pain, even if it puts his immediate plans with the Indian cricket team on hold temporarily.

Even though some members of the Indian cricket team were speculated as wanting to skip the Indian tour of the West Indies over a tough schedule and the exhausting summer regime of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 followed by the IPL 4, Sehwag actually has a valid reason to now stay away from the cricket field. The Delhi Daredevils meantime have an interim captain to find.
