Even as Sachin Tendulkar comes into the Indian ODI team with the World Cup in mind, Virender Sehwag has an injury to nurse.

Virender Sehwag will be resting as advised and not participating in the India South Africa ODI series that follow the Test series in the new year.
That is because the Indian opener has been plagued by a shoulder injury which it would appear, the team management does not want to aggravate and risk by playing him in the ODIs in the run up to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.
Although the extent of the injury is not immediately known, one would have to wonder if Sehwag has been carrying it for a while. Sehwag has been unable to get going to convert his starts into a more telling innings and by his own Test standards, he will consider himself a failure.
One also wonder the logic in playing Sehwag in the final Test in Cape Town if the injury is indeed worrisome and he would be better of resting. India, of course, want to win the third Test of the series to establish themselves as equally dominant overseas. But are they not running the risk of further aggravation by playing Sehwag furthermore in a five day fixture?
Only the team management and physio can explain that logic.
