Sometimes even for an ardent fan, cricket takes a backseat. Here is reliving one such day, with very ghastly pictures and debilitating emotions.

The ODI match between England and India paled into insignificance even as India were winning the match handsomely. The distraction came by way of news that there was shooting happened at CST (Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus -formerly known as VT station), the hub of millions of travelling feet in Mumbai.

The sensitivity of the issue has been magnified more times than people even finding derogatory the infamous Dean Jones commentory calling Hashim Amla a "terrorist" for sporting a beard as per his religious sentiment.

As the horror unfolded, its repercussions were felt across all classes, occupations, statures, and cricket could not naturally become impervious to the happenings.

What followed was the England team camping in the Gulf while being thrown into a difficult situation of overcoming the horror to come back to India to play the Test series. That they did come back came after a great day of haranguing.

The Champions League Twenty20 was expected to take off and but for 26/11, four foreign teams would have landed at the Taj hotel in Mumbai the next day. Shane Warne, the captain of the Rajasthan Royals, was amongst those that had to take a return flight midway.

For England, while Kevin Pietersen was praised in his efforts to persuade his team mates to continue the tour, it was incidentally the last series KP would captain before losing the crown himself.

For the Indian Cricket League (ICL) that was hosting its World series, it brought cricket as the ICL knows it to a grinding halt. The Pakistan cricketers did not play in IPL 2, although it was staged in South Africa,

But the greater repercussion cricket wise came in the form of the Indian government deciding against sending the Indian team to Pakistan for a full fledged tour, causing a lot of stress and consternation about the future of cricket in the region.

Some of these stories will rewind back those memories:
