Waqar Doubtful of ICL Pakistan Players' Commitment

Even as some of the ICL players are more than happy with the Pakistan Cricket Board's willingness to take them back, the former fast bowler and Pakistan captain has questioned if the players were committed enough.

Waqar Younis has some strong opinions. But he appeared undecided on the issue taking the ICL players. His main contention stems from the fact that these players left the Pakistan team and joined up with the breakaway Indian Twenty20 league.

While he is not opposed to the idea of having these players back into the team, he doubts whether these players can convincingly display their patriotism when they abandoned their opportunity to play for Pakistan in the first place.

Younis is not against cricketers seeking employment but when it comes to playing for the national colours, apparently for Younis, that is the litmus test of the commitment and loyalty of the player and to him, if the player was willing to give up the opportunity to play for the country for a lucrative deal, his commitment will come into question.
