Warne Lands himself in a Four Letter Misdemeanour

Shane Warne and controversy are practically inseparable. Now it appears that his commentary stint was a little bit more lively than it should have been.

Warne ended up using the four letter word “tw*t” when referring to Andrew Strauss’ opportunity to hit a ball that was not legally delivered. The case in point was Ben Hilfenhaus when the ball slipped out of his hand during his run up. Strauss could not hit the ball or “tw*t” the ball in Shane Warne’s words because it had not passed the popping crease.

The unsavory comment was made during the third Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham where Australia drew with England.

Recently Leader of Britain’s Conservative Party, David Cameron, used the unacceptable word when speaking over the radio on his thoughts about Twitter. It certainly landed him in soup necessitating him to write a letter of apology.

Perhaps Shane Warne has forgotten that he is no longer on the field to use foul language as part of Australia's concept of sledging. He is in desperate need of commentary box etiquette. Perhaps he could learn a thing or two from the suave and rather knowledgeably precise Hollywood actor, Russell Crowe, who did a brief commentary stint during the second Test of the Ashes at Lord's.
