Was Shakib Forced to Kneel to Apologise for Responding to the Board Chief's Barbs?

The acting Bangladesh captain, Shakib Al Hasan, was not just taking heat from Virender Sehwag but also, from the board chief. Only it appears the latter may have received an apology on bended knee.

There are reports that Shakib was apparently forced to kneel and apologise to the board chief for defying his comments. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief, AHM Mustafa Kamal, had earlier brought into question about the 100 per cent committment of the Bangladesh cricketers.

At an awards function, he stated, "As a professional, I always want hundred per cent from the players and you have to be habituated with triumph and it will be not acceptable if you go down one day after winning a match the previous day." Shakib did not obviously like the remark and retorted that the integrity of the players need not be brought into question and that no sportsman would half heartedly take the field and that winning was a result of a team effort, including the back room staff.
