This is not surprising at all. If anything, it would have been asked of the West Indies why they decided to stay silent.

There was little doubt that Sulieman Benn's aggression in going for the ball even as Mitchell Johnson was trying to make the crease was excessive in the ongoing third Test in Perth. But whether the reactions thereafter were any less ugly is highly questionable after Brad Haddin showed his bat to the bowler and Mitchell Johnson actually mistook a finger point episode as physical intimidation and shoved Benn.
But the judgement handed down the match referee, Chris Broad, banning Benn for two ODIs while letting off Haddin and Johnson with a 25 per cent and 10 per cent fine simply because they pleaded guilty was going to cause the bone of contention.
Now the West Indies will be penning a letter to the ICC to demanding the discrepancy of punishment handed down.
