For those feeling bad for not being part of the frenzy at cricket stadiums, here is a reason to not feel alone. After all even the Indian selectors failed to watch the match live at the India v Pakistan ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 semi finals. Don't expect anything different at the Wankhede Stadium tomorrow.

Hard as it may be to imagine, the Indian selection panel head by Krishnamachari Srikkanth did an about turn in Mohali for the India v Pakistan ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 semi final. The reason was not a tiff but rather a matter of space.
The Indian selectors apparently found it hard not only get hotel rooms for the overnight stay for the match, having travelled from New Delhi, but also, match tickets for the semi final encounter. With no option but to turn back, the selectors returned without watching the team they picked up perform out of their skins to make it to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 final.
With a political fiasco surrounding the India v Pakistan encounter, the space crunch apparently got out of control, resulting in a huge amount of allotment for the political dignitaries of the country to take up a large percentage of the seats as well as security arrangements.
One can expect nothing less for the India v Sri Lanka ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 final encounter at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With the politicians once again descending upon the venue, Sharad Pawar, the ICC president, himself apparently bringing along an entourage, one can expect a security melee that is bound to be a bit of a dampener for the crowds who will put through some inconvenience for the match.
