West Indies coach, Ottis Gibson, is frustrated. And he is blaming the West Indies batsmen letting themselves down on the field against South Africa.

South Africa won the five match ODI series 3-0 and it has led to the coach doing some hard thinking. Amidst rumours that Gibson could be pushing for a psychologist to help the players out, he lashed out at the batsmen, “It boils down to the batsmen taking responsibility which they are not doing, and it is also going to take a large amount of common sense which they are not displaying. As a coach, you can talk as much as you like and the guys are working hard at their skills but cricket also requires some thought and a lot of common sense and that’s where, as a batting group, we are falling down. I keep saying that, in order to win, we have to create the opportunity first. All it required was some common sense batting and we’re not displaying any common sense when we walk out.”
West Indies certainly have some soul searching to do.
