Clearly there is more than what meets the eye here. But it is hard to imagine that the series of angst within the West Indian dressing room and the WICB is only a series of pure coincidence.

Earlier there was reports of rifts with the sponsor Digicel that threatened to mar the one day series with England. Then there was speculation of payments going back a year that would see some of the senior cricketers create trouble ahead of the same ODI series.
The latest doing the rounds is that the West Indies cricketers, those associated with the IPL, are apparently interested to opting for the IPL over the tour to England, which in their opinion, was hastily arranged after Sri Lanka pulled out citing the same reasons.
But Chris Gayle has come out a day later to refute those allegations and state that the West Indies cricketers are very keen to keep their national commitments, and that details (wonder what if there is clarity on the issue) are being worked with the WICB.
It appears that when the West Indies tumble with their on field cricket, they down a complete down spiral. When things start to look up, they tend to get perhaps carried away by their own success, get ambitious, get tangled in controversy and digress from the mission on hand.
One can only hope that after overcoming the Duckworth Lewis stumble to win the second ODI comprehensively, the WI dressing room is still focussed enough as they take on England in the third ODI today.
