The West Indies Cricket Board has listed the contracted players for the forthcoming season, but has also asked Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo to explain why they are not on the list.

Following in the footsteps of Pollard and Bravo, apparently the West Indies captain also did not wish to tied down by a WICB central contract that could affect lucrative Twenty20 deals. However, the WICB has been assuring that the players have stated their commitment to West Indies cricket and have therefore sought reasons to hopefully amend the situation to mutual liking.
The WICB states, "Gayle and Bravo, who were both offered ‘A’ contracts, and Pollard, who was offered a ‘C’ contract, have indicated to the WICB that they were not minded to take up the offers.
"The WICB has written to Gayle, Bravo and Pollard seeking details of the issues which caused them not to take up the offer in an attempt to understand same and so that the issues can be addressed for future contract offers."
