As expected, the India v Pakistan match in the quarter finals of the 2010 ICC Under-19 World Cup assumed greater importance than would have otherwise been warranted.

With Pakistan beating India in a rain curtailed match, the reactions from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief, Ejaz Butt and former Pakistan captain, Rameez Raja, were on expected lines as well.
While many considered it a return gesture from Pakistan after their cricketers were not picked at the IPL 3 auctions. Others felt the results simply vindicated that cricket in Pakistan was thriving and that they could not be ignored, even if Pakistan were not faring as well as expected in Australia as opposed to New Zealand. Either way, this issue is not dying down easy.
