While the majority of the Indian cricket followers are following India's progress in New Zealand, the women's cricket team is doing its bit to outshine in the current World Cup, by beating tournament favourites Australia in Sydney.

India lost to England in a sedate scenario after trouncing Pakistan but came back to beat Sri Lanka to qualify for the Super Sixes. But against Australia, they won a thriller by sixteen runs that included an all round performance.
Anjum Chopra led the way with seventy-six while opening partner Anagha Deshpande once again stood solid on forty-five. Another partnership between former captain Mithali Raj and current India vice captain Amita Sharma got India to 234.
Australia had their run makers in opener AJ Blackwell who made a half century and forty-three from Fields. But it was the late order partnership between Ebsary and Farrell that got Australia close to India's target but not home due to some smart bowling by the Indian bowlers.
India will now look to repeat their success in the Super Sixes and will be looking to go all the way.
