Something strange is happening with Pakistan cricket. Just days after he was reinstated as Pakistan captain, Younis Khan, has been replaced by Mohammad Yousuf.

With Pakistan cricket, such change of fortunes should perhaps be accepted. But it is startling nevertheless. Following Pakistan's loss in the Cool and Cool Pakistan New Zealand ODI series in Abu Dhabi, there were murmurings of some of the members of the Pakistan cricket team being unhappy over the teams selected and Younis Khan's indifferent form.
While more clarity is required, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appears to be talking a different language. Stating that Younis Khan himself requested to be rested, they have appointed Mohammad Yousuf, who strangely did not play in the final ODI that Pakistan lost, as captain for Pakistan's tour of New Zealand for the Test series, naming Kamran Akmal as his deputy.
Shahid Afridi will lead the team in the two Twenty20 internationals against New Zealand in Dubai even as Younis Khan had expressed a few days ago about wanting to play Twenty20 again.
