A match that appeared to slip out of the hands of the West Zone became the toast after the senior Pathan brother scored an unbelievable double century.
West Zone was chasing a remarkable 536 for victory and that record breaking victory in the Duleep Trophy final was achieved with three wickets to spare.
It was another nail biting finish after an equally scintillating Ranji Trophy but unfortunately there were no crowds to cheer the teams on in Hyderabad. Incidentally it is the 16th Duleep Trophy final win for West Zone.
