The Sri Lankan team's fate seemed sealed, until Angelo Matthews gave them India something to think about. Will it be enough though?

Sri Lanka struggled to get going on a colder day at the Queen's Sport Club in Bulwayo in the opening match of the Zimbabwe ODI tri series against India. An early run out of Upul Tharanga did not help and even when Sri Lankan captain, Tillkeratne Dilshan, struggled desperately to shrug off his poor form with sixty-one, he succumbed to another run out to compound matters for the team from the Emerald Isles.

India's spinners, Pragyan Ojha and Ravindra Jadeja, kept India interested scalping two wickets apiece to put the brakes on their neighbours.

But while five down for 156 seemed dismal, not all was lost for Sri Lanka because digging them out of a hole once more was all rounder, Angelo Matthews, with a little help from Thissara Perera. Matthews scored a valuable seventy-four runs innings that was punctuated by a couple of sixes and boundaries to get Sri Lanka past the 200 even as the death overs were upon them.

Sri Lanka eventually finished better than promised on their fifty overs. Can India register their first win the series with the chase?
