Krishnamachari Srikkanth, the chairman of selectors, refused to be drawn into a discussion but Yuvraj Singh begs to differ, adding a bit of humour to lighten the mood.
Yuvraj was not named in the Indian team for the Test series against Australia and Srikkanth seemed to generally surmise that Yuvraj was not fit and/or in form while also, stating that no explanations were necessary.
Yuvraj Singh responded to the media following the news, “I played two games in Sri Lanka, and in the first ( tour match ) I scored a hundred and a fifty in the second. If that’s not good enough, I can’t say. Of course it is a disappointment but disappointments have become part of my life. In the last two years, I have had a lot of injuries and struggled. It’s out of my hands.”
Yuvraj also negated the reasons suggested by Srikkanth, “I will get fitter. Sri Lanka was tough because of dengue and neck injury.”
He add, presumably with a tongue in cheek, “If I continue to be dropped like this, definitely I will have to look for something else.”
