Rain is playing a big part in adding to the suspense of the first ODI between India and Australia in Kochi.
Heavy rains have meant that both teams, India and Australia, were denied practice in the nets ahead of the start of the India Australia ODI series.
With the outfield wet and conditions gloomy, no practice was possible and apparently ground conditions were not feasibly in draining away water quickly. All this has cast doubt on the first ODI on the 17th of October, Sunday as Saturday is expected to see more rain.
Already the ODI series is expected to suffer a little because of the absence of at least six regular Indian cricketers through rest or injury.
