There is a battle going on even before the second Test of the India South Africa series gets underway. The battle between the curator for the CAB and the Indian captain deepens, even as former Indian captain adds his own opinion.
Sourav Ganguly is taken aback why Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s opinion is not being taken into account into the final pitch preparation for the second Test at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Dhoni is questioning the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and the curator, Prabir Mukherjee’s reasoning that the pitch is being made a sporting one and not spinner friendly as desired by Dhoni in a case of unfair advantage.
But Dhoni is questioning why preparing a turning track could be unfair when a pitch with pace and bounce is likely to give the visitors an extra advantage. Dhoni states there is nothing wrong with home advantage given that India does face conditions that suit the hosts when team India travels abroad.
