The Indian selectors have announced the Indian cricket team travelling to Sri Lanka for a full Test tour. And there were some selections that were not out of the blue but questionable on the part of the selectors.
The selectors will have a tough time if they were to explain why Yuvraj Singh, who was dropped for the Asia Cup 2010, is back in the Test line up if they thought he was not fit and not in form.
Likewise, Ishant Sharma and Sreesanth seem to be the only choices left for the selectors despite neither being outstandingly impressive to be selected because Ashish Nehra and Praveen Kumar are apparently risky selections in the Test format as compared to the ODIs.
Wriddhiman Saha gets to travel as the back up wicket keeper while no back opener has been named for the tour. Sachin Tendulkar makes a return to the Indian team, while Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman come back into the Test team. Virender Sehwag’s selection suggests his injury sustained during the Asia Cup was not too bad.
