First Sudeep Tyagi derailed the first bogie of the Delhi Daredevil train. Then Shadab Jakati spun his magic to give the Chennai Super Kings their win over the Daredevils in the IPL 2 season in South Africa.
The Chennai Super Kings rallied their innings around the sixty-six between Suresh Raina and Subramaniam Badrinath whose forty-five for the top score of the Chennai innings. But Dirk Nannes once again showed why Glen McGrath has not been able to find a place in the playing XI picking three wickets while Ashish Nehra picked up three while keeping Albie Morkel quiet. Chennai could have perhaps have made a lot more had it not been for the fact that the Daredevils brought the match to an even keel.
Tyagi cleaned up AB de Villiers but before that he sent Gautam Gambhir back with Suresh Raina taking a clean catch as Daredevils looked to chase down Super Kings’ 163. Tyagi’s two wickets in two balls blow was one thing. Then Jakati got stuck into the Daredevil line up, taking out the dangerous Australia David Warner who was blazing away with a half century from the other end. More resistance was to come from another half centurion Dinesh Karthik even as Jakati bowled Tillekeratne Dilshan. But eventually Jakati had the final say and Karthik and Daredevils succumbed to the pressure from the Chennai Super Kings bowling. Jakati finished up with four wickets as Delhi could only manage 145.
