IPL 2 Game 27: Mohali Tower over KKR in Final Ball Chase

Mohali sought revenge for the first league match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at St. Georges Park, Port Elizabeth, as the latter won the match due to rain.
If the Shah Rukh Khan team made 153, it was largely due to Brad Hodge’s seventy runs from forty-three balls. Once again the international stalwarts in Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum and Sourav Ganguly got starts, but the KKR failed to keep it going. When they could have scored a lot more, once again they proved the mysterious underachievers.
But the Kings XI Punjab team did not experience the same pangs. After Sohal’s twenty-five despite losing Kumar Sangakkara for naught, the crucial partnership came between Simon Katich and Sohal and later between Katich and Mahela Jayawardene, the latter making his strongest contribution yet with a half century. Punjab may have won on the final ball, but it was clear that one team wanted the win more badly than the other.
