Even as Harbhajan Singh’s dalliance with Geeta Basra continues to dominate headlines, there are also reflections on other prospective couples.
The one giving the Bhajji love story a run for its money is the one that is being alluded between gorgeous former Miss Universe and Bollywood actor, Sushmita Sen, and former Pakistan captain, Wasim Akram, who is presently in India as a bowling consultant for Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders. The two have got on famously since their pairing together as judges on the dance reality Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena where cricketers also participated. And now romantics are hoping there is more to the story after Akram suffered a heartbreak with the passing away of his ailing wife in a Chennai Hospital en route to Singapore.
But there is another one. Move over Katrina Kaif; Mallya Jr. prefers a different brand ambassador for IPL 3. Earlier the sighting of Deepika Padukone at a cricket stadium meant that fans would chant Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s name to get his attention after the Indian captain confessed to liking the young Bollywood actor. However, her link ups ended with Yuvraj Singh.
And her recent split from fellow actor, Ranbir Kapoor, has sent tongues wagging that Vijay Mallya’s son, Siddarth Mallya, is bonding rather well with Deepika, daughter of the former badminton champion, Prakash Padukone.
Incidentally the Padukones hail from Bangalore as well and Mallya (seen with Flavio Briatore from Formula One) owns the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Deepika was not much a lucky charm for the RCB last night; but would that change Siddharth’s preferences?
