Somerset’s gamble did not last too long. Marcus Trescothick has flown back to England.
The Somerset Sabres made the Super Eights of the Champions League Twenty20 by the skin of their teeth. Trescothick was always in doubt given that the England team had seen him return from the tour to India even before it had begun due to a stress related illness.
It was rather surprising that Trescothick even made it to the CL T20. However, with the Super Eights looming, his old problems have surfaced and he has now flown back leaving Sabres hollow at the top.
