Pak Aus T2 Preview: Salman Butt Asks for Patience, Australia Go for Fourteeth Win

Pakistan once again go into a tough proposition as they try and prevent Australia getting the fourteeth Test win on the trot against them when the two teams face up in the second Test at Headingley, Leeds.
Pakistan’s new captain, Salman Butt, has had little trasition time since Shahid Afridi stepped down and out of Test cricket after the first Test. While Butt is showing signs that the situation is not overly disconcerting him, it will not be an easy proposition, this change of guard, because Pakistan are coming from behind in the series, having lost the first Test at Lord’s by 150 runs.
Pakistan’s heavy reliance on their bowling department, especially on their fast bowling, will continue with the batting still fairly embryonic and having shown susceptibility in the first Test.
If there are a couple of things Pakistan would have learnt from their first Test experience, it would be to be more discerning with respect to their shot selection and also, finish Australia the next time they have them on the ropes as they did on the first day of the first Test.
Salman Butt would certainly welcome more prowess and show of strength in the batting because he has been the lone charger in the first.
