Sehwag: Don’t Want to Open; Bhajji: Critics Should Shut up

Even as the euphoric Indian team has been split as sponsors woo their market with having cricketers do the publicity rounds, startling comments keep popping out of their mouths.
Virender Sehwag, captain of the Delhi Daredevils, has come out once again stating his preference for batting in the middle of the order. Stating that the team management had first forced him into the opening role, where he has been enormously successful for India in all forms of the game, Sehwag expressed the desire to return to the role he played all his life, as a middle order batsman.
He had also stated that despite expressing his views, his request to change his position has been denied. He though praised Gautam Gambhir’s abilities as an opener, recently even commenting that Gambhir’s was India’s best opener since Sunil Gavaskar.
Harbhajan Singh, who went from captaining the Mumbai Indians in the IPL to becoming the bad boy for slapping Sreesanth, spoke scathingly of his critics and warned them to just watch television and shut their mouth, quite literally. He slammed those that criticised him for his away record, stating that the victory in New Zealand had showed his efforts in a new light and even showed his ability of shouldering the spin responsibility now that Anil Kumble had retired.
Yuvraj Singh, on the other hand, has been in the news not only for buying a plush apartment in Mumbai but also, for stating that despite the fact that the Mohali Kings XI Punjab team did not have South Africans, Kings XI Punjab were the favourites to win the DLF IPL 2!
