The Pakistan Twenty20 and ODI captain has been issued a warning by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
PCB issued a showcause notice to Shahid Afridi for what it says is violation of the clause of the contract that bars Afridi from speaking to the media without prior permission.
The directive reads, “Shahid Afridi has violated the central contract. He is barred from giving any interviews to the media without prior consent of the PCB chairman.”
Afridi was named the Pakistan ODI and Twenty20 captain for the Pakistan South Africa series but was apparently not consulted when the team was selected and he complained about the same when giving a media interview.
