The Kochi franchisee drama has finally seen one head roll – that of the Minister of State for External Affairs.
As of late Sunday night, Shashi Taroor was forced to turn in his resignation papers after meeting with India’s Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh with the Congress clearly not eager to attract more opposition angst.
Taroor’s close associate, Sunanda Pushkar, had earlier apparently “voluntarily decided to give up her sweat equity in the franchisee citing that she had been humiliate enough although opposition took it as an understanding of acceptance of wrong doing and misuse of office by Taroor.
