Rs.42 Lakhs! That’s right. That is what Sachin Tendulkar’s bat cost at a charity auction.
Tendulkar’s bat was one amongst many contributions by sportspersons for a charity auction. It came as little surprise that Tendulkar’s bat with which he reportedly scored the 163 run innings against New Zealand bagged the highest amount.

Rahul Dravid’s bat that featured in the century knock in both innings of the Kolkata Test against pakistan in 2005 tied on money with the rifle of India’s gold medallist, Abhinav Bindra, at Rs.20 lakhs.

Sunil Gavaskar’s bat fetched Rs.17.5 lakh while Anil Kumble’s jersey, the same one worn during the Delhi Test against Pakistan in 1999 as well as his Test cap fetched Rs. 11.5 lakhs.
